Is it too soon to date? (Read description)

Question

Been married almost 3 years and have a 9 month old baby. My husband and I have been officially separated for about 2 months but the marriage has been over long before… haven’t slept in the same room for over 6 months and haven’t had sex in a year and a half.
I have a massive crush on this other guy and honestly to me it doesn’t feel too soon because I feel like my marriage has been over for a long time. I just want to allow myself to finally be happy. But I also have a tendency to rush things. 
Does it seem too soon?
And if you think it’s too soon, when do you think is an acceptable time to start dating again?

If youre married thats called adultery. You need to clean up house before dealing with another man. You married and had a kid with the “wrong” man and u need to take time to unpack that and figure out how that happened. I suggest a therapist and spend time reading about healthy dating and healthy choices in relationships. Also protective information of dating with a kid.

I would get divorced first. In speaking as both a divorcee and as a woman that would see men on dating apps that were "separated". It's messy. It appears that you're on 100% free, whether you are or not. As a divorcee, I understand because my marriage was over in fact long before the paperwork was completed for dovorce, but you're not yet divorced. If the new guy and situation is meant to be, it'll happen when the time is right. You're not going to miss anything or anyone meant for you.

Too soon to go on a casual date? No but if the person has potential, and it could get serious, you should get divorced or at least file the paperwork first.

I was never married to him, but was with my ex for 7 shitty years. We hadn't slept in the same bed for 5 of those years, and were essentially glorified roommates.
We broke up over a year ago officially and I've been on dates since I've moved in Sept. I went to therapy first, felt better about myself and learned boundaries. My ex is a narc and that seems to be the men I attract (thanks Ma!), but I've realized and learned what I will and will not accept.
You do you. It's over and it's been over for a while. You can date. Just maybe do some work on yourself as well, and file for divorce because it's clearly over.

I would personally wait until the divorce is final or at least most of the way through. I wouldn’t want to give the ex any reason to try and say oh this was going on before i deserve more or try and take custody. If the other person is interested in you as well then they should be understanding and would wait.

My advice would be to not date ubtil your divorce is finalized. It's not fair to the other person. Being "seperated' is not divorced. Get your house in order, focus on that....and then when it's all said and done, move on and date whomever you wish.

I think if you have the desire then go for it. I’ve been separated from my ex for 14 months and haven’t felt even the slightest desire to be in a relationship again. I joined an online dating app to kinda see what’s out there and that confirmed it, DO NOT want a relationship. Everyone is different, go with your gut!

In my opinion, if the relationship was over before it officially ended then it is not too soon. I was with my ex for 2 years, 1 year of that was spent debating between if it was over or not while knowing deep down it was. I found my partner two weeks after I had left my ex. We are now married with two beautiful children, going on five years.
