Do I pay or should they?

This isn’t relationship related however, I’ve organised a birthday brunch with 12 of my friends they have all transferred the $65 that was required. However I have rsvp with the restaurant and they stated that there’s a extra 10% fee as the booking is greater than 10 I wasn’t aware of this prior. Which makes it now $71 each is it bad if I ask my friends to transfer another $6?

Never ask more if you have set a price already, that is just a bad surprise and doesn't look good.

$65 was already an insane amount of money to ask friends to pay for your birthday event and to ask for even more money after that is just too much. Pay it yourself.

If this birthday event is for yourself…. And you asking people to pay 65$ and they are coming to celebrate u…. Id eat the cost.
   If it was planned for someone else… then go ahead and ask.

If you asked me to pay for your event I’d just not go to begin with…but definitely in this case since they all were generous enough to pay I wouldn’t ask again. If I couldn’t afford the extra 70 bucks I’d think I couldn’t have my brunch at that location and find a cheaper place

Always double and triple check the amount each person would owe before giving a final total in situations like this. Unfortunatley, it's bad form to ask for anything more at this juncture. 
I would just pay the extra and call it "lesson learned".

I would just deal with it myself. I would be annoyed if someone asked me to send another amount after I sent the first amount. Like, get your shit together before you request money 🙄
