2 year old throwing up at night

My almost 2 year old has been coughing at night sometimes. Like intense coughing fits. Hasn’t happened to many times per night recently and slowed down. Woke up to vomit in his crib 2 times now.

I don’t understand why he seems completely fine and not sick all the time but sometimes at night he coughs and I wake up to throw up. He doesn’t even cry about it just coughs for a sec and goes back to sleep.

Sometimes he sticks his finger to far back in his mouth so I wonder if that’s making him throw up? He seems fine otherwise.

The vomit was pink colored today but that may have been from raspberries he ate yesterday. I’m worried does this sound like anything serious?
