Strangers touching your baby ??

Has anyone experienced this ??
I have an 8 month old and This has happened to me about 3 times now.  
Where a random stranger will compliment my daughter, completely invade our personal space and touch her.  The first time I think I was just shocked that people would have the audacity.  The last time time it happened an older man with a dog in his shopping cart touched her face.  Now I don’t believe they meant any harm but I’m so confused as to how a person (let alone multiple people!! ) would think that’s okay. I’m so irritated I see I’m going to have to be real stand-offish and borderline rude so that people are no longer feel comfortable doing so.  The last person touched her face and it took everrrrrything in me not to go off and curse them out.  Covid is happening, I don’t know where your hands been, you don’t know me and you don’t know my baby.  Like how isn’t this common sense !!!

It has never happened with my child. But by my own admission, I would consider myself not very approachable. I’m not rude, just mind my own business and I think people probably perceive me as unfriendly. Honestly I don’t mind this and really just don’t care. But after reading about your experience, I bet people feel the opposite about you and feel you are very approachable and friendly. 
Stop making eye contact, keep moving and no strangers will touch her like that again.

Oh yeah, old ladies every time. It always shocks me and it’s over and done so quick and never know what to say… my daughter is 18m and I can count on one hand how many times it has happened but still!

I don't trust a single woman over the age of 40 tbh, so many people have zero sense of boundaries. I had an elderly woman once attempt to use her fingernail to pull back my BABYWRAP to get a better look at my sleeping newborn. People are nuts. When it happens I physically move away and tell them to stop, I don't care if they think I'm rude.

I had this just happened to me last week 😞 I was so mad & just walked away when a old person touched my baby. My baby is a very happy & smiley baby she smiles all the time but I had never had this happened we barely go out anyways but I got so upset because like you mention covid still going around + it was a stranger who touched her hand😣 She always put her hands in her mouth so imagine my face she’ll be 5 months next wk. I immediately walked away & wipe her hand.

i don’t even let my family hold my baby without washing their hands first. we’re in the middle of a damn pandemic, i would’ve lost my mind on the stranger 🤷🏼‍♀️

When my son was 2 months old and we were eating at a restaurant with my mom, sister-in-law, and niece, my mom was holding him when our waitress touched his hand. I hadn’t noticed because I was eating and turned away from them slightly but my sister-in-law quickly said something to distract her and they told me afterwards. I was a bit upset and gave him a bath as soon as we got home lol. Another time an old lady was complimenting our curly hair in a check out line and I politely thanked her but then she moved closer to us and reached out her hand and I just instantly moved away before she could touch him. I decided from now on I will try to keep my distance and move away but if that doesn’t work I’m going to politely say I’m not comfortable with strangers touching my baby. People usually mean well because they are a cute baby but often they forget that this is a total stranger and it’s still not okay to just touch someone in general that you don’t know without their permission let alone a baby or child.
Oh and other story for you; when my niece was a baby it was right when the lockdown started for COVID and my sister-in-law was at Costco and had her in her stroller with the cover up and a light blanket over her and a woman came up and asked if she could see her baby and my sister-in-law said no and the woman have the audacity to get pissed at HER lol. People are strange.

The best thing I've found to use for this is the baby carrier! It's like a huge barrier between them and the baby. I've worn it at parties and people can still see the babys face if they want but it stops people from touching her.
 Another thing I've done is putting a light blanket or screen like a mosquito net over the stroller. I dont always do this because I like seeing her and being able to reach her but it definitely stops people who would otherwise be getting too close.

It happened at least once every time we took my son to the store as a baby until I forced myself out of my typical shy looking, people pleasing mode and perfected my resting bitch face and “don’t you fucking dare” look. People have no concept of boundaries and it’s insane. It still happens sometimes now that my son is nearly 3 and they try and touch his hair (it’s super curly) and he loves it, but I’m still telling people to stay the fuck away because 1. There’s a ton of trafficking attempts going on around me right now and I don’t trust a single damn person and 2. I don’t want my son thinking it’s acceptable for strangers to come up to him, talk to him, and touch him.

This has happened to me several times. I still get anger thinking about the time two women flanked the stroller and stuck their faces in my baby’s face. I was too dumbfounded that anyone would do this to remove my baby in time, but now I’m ready to embarrass whoever I happen to be with. “May I touch your baby?” “No, you may not!”
