Tips for dealing with in laws that hate you??

Tomorrow is my first Mother’s Day and of course, like every holiday, we will spend it running around to please both our families. There’s no mom on my husband’s side, but he has a sister and a SIL and for whatever reason we are expected to come and celebrate them. They hate my guts simply because they don’t think we come around enough (although they don’t come to our house either upon invitation). Before meeting me, my husband would be over there 2-3 times a week. He was their free babysitter, paid for all their meals, etc… So I was the bad guy in his families’ eyes when I put a stop to that nonsense.

Anyways that doesn’t matter. The last few times we have been over there his family has either completely shunned me or started an argument over nothing with my husband (trying to get a reaction from me I’m sure). I remained quiet as I didn’t want to give them any ammo against me. I had my baby back in October and I was very sick with PP preeclampsia. I also struggled with PPD and anxiety. We went to his families’ house while I was still very emotional and raw and his dad started a huge argument with my husband and it really upset me. That was the final straw for me because he never once acknowledged his new grandchild, but instead just started attacking us and picking fights as soon as we walked in the door. Ever since then it’s been EXTREMELY awkward to go over there. I’m literally sick over tomorrow. I want to enjoy my first Mother’s Day but instead I’m letting them suck the joy out of it. As bad as it sounds I don’t even want them touching my baby. Does anyone have any suggestions on this? How do you cope? I haven’t been able to eat all week because I have been so worried about how they’ll act tomorrow ☹️
