Jury Duty??🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Has anyone ever been summoned for jury duty when you have your first baby? Shes about to be 2 months. And i am breastfeeding. My husband was telling me in order to get out of it is to take her with me and they should excuse me because I'm breastfeeding? And that i should take my bible with me lol. Will they dismiss me  for sure? I dont want to take her. But if i end up having to stay out could be a month case or more. I dont know what to do??

I got called for jury duty selection a month ago. I wrote them an email explaining my situation… single mother of 3, one is an infant, Full custody and no childcare. It was sent to a judge and 2 days later they emailed back saying I was exempt. You should email them and let them know, also make them aware that you’re unable to pump. Good luck!

You can be dismissed for breastfeeding. Usually they send a survey to see if you’re eligible for jury duty but you can call and tell them your situation.

I don't know if this is everywhere, but where I live, breastfeeding gets you out of having to appear at all. I had to write a letter stating I was breastfeeding and include "under penalty of perjury" verbiage, sign it, then scan and email it in. They responded pretty quickly saying I was excused. Check the court website and maybe try to call in to ask what the requirements are if the website isn't clear. Get on it asap though!

Just ask for a postponement. I was postponed three times when I asked because I was breastfeeding

I have been called for jury duty on the notice it says you can go to the website and postpone it there’s breastfeeding as a reason and being the main caretaker of your baby is an excuse

I got called for jury duty a few years ago. I spent the morning in the waiting area as they called numbers for different court rooms. Since my number hadn't been called by noon, I got to go home and counted as served. Even if you get called in, there's lots of reasons you might be ineligible for a case and head home the same day.
