Is this a red flag?!

I’ve recently met someone and we clicked right away, he seemed like a genuinely great guy and made it very clear he wanted more. He then went away for work and contacted me texts and calls every chance he got. He told me he has a child from his previous relationship and they obviously keep in contact for the child (child & mother lives in another country). One day on social media, I came across a friend suggestion which was a profile that had the guy, the ex and the child as profile photo and had both his and her name on said profile, weeks earlier he had told me he didn’t have Facebook but wanted me to make him one (didn’t get around to it) and the page does suggest it’s her using it just from what I could see. I have been single for a very long time after a very toxic narcissistic relationship and this one red flag made me back off and shut down right away. I texted him to let him know what I saw and told him I didn’t like this situation and wanted it over. I ignored a few of his calls and we haven’t had contact since. I feel horrible if I’m assuming wrong and it is just his ex, but to me this is a situation I want nothing to do with. Was I wrong with my reaction? Yesterday was the last time he tried to call, plus he’ll be back in my town in a months time.
