Think I might be crazy?

Posting anonymously because this is embarrassing to even post
My stomach had a small spot or scab type thing on it which I scratched off. Its now in my head that a fly has laid eggs in it and I swear i can like feel something in there. So I keep picking and squeezing it trying to get ir our and its so sore and red now. My partner keeps telling me there's nothing and to leave it alone. But I find myself having more and more thoughts about ways to get it out the point I took a seam ripper to it earlier
Am I going crazy or could there really be something in there??? I don't know why I'd be so convinced otherwise

Since it's causing you mental distress, I reccomend talking to your doctor about your concerns. I don't think it's safe for you to just sit around bcs its causing you to want to do harm to your body to figure it out.

Sounds like anxiety/OCD tendencies. Do you often have compulsive thoughts? I would speak to a doctor to get it checked for peace of mind and then think about if you may possibly struggle with OCD.

You’re making yourself crazy. The “feeling” of them is tingling from the picking and healing or it’s psychotic (not in a mean way!). You know when you think so hard that something itches and you end up itching there? That’s what it sounds like

I think you need to get checked out, you’re going to give yourself an infection poking around at this regardless of whether something is there or not.

There is nothing in there. You need to talk to your doctor about anxiety or health anxiety. And STOP picking and scratching at it before you cause an infection.

Interesting. I had a friend that had the same issues. She picked at her head and her arms for months upon end. She also though she saw bugs in her bed. I stared into her scabs for weeks hoping to find something, but the problem has been reduced to mental illness.
Issue 1: She was on antidepressants, but not eating healthy or following a timed regimen. 
Issue 2: She has a close relative with schizophrenia. This is rare, but possible to have an onset late.
Issue 3: She was under a lot of stress.
I suggest 
Change your diet to a healthy one. Remove caffeine, cigarettes, alcohol or any drugs from your system. 
Get on a regimen of sleep. Don’t stay up all night picking. Place some bandages over your wounds and leave them alone….or you won’t sleep.
If you are on antidepressants make sure your dose is correct and you are cycling through your dose at the same times every day. Refer to another doctor about your dosage. One doctor does not know all.
Get someone to talk to about your stress. Most close friends and relatives don’t understand another’s stress. They are not empathetic because they don’t understand much more than themselves. Talk to an unbiased trained professional that will give you their attention as you move through the process.
Lastly I repeat…..Diet, Hydration and Sleep
