House located near landfill

We’re house hunting and found a great house with everything we would need and it’s in a brand new housing development. Only thing is that I saw it’s located about 1 kilometer away from a waste management center. There’s nothing but vegetation between it and the house and it’s facing to the south west from the house. I’m really disappointed because it’s been so difficult searching for weeks here in Mexico and the prices are actually really high for what we can afford for a good life. Would this be a big threat to health? Please no hate comments, we had to move here due to life circumstances so we are trying to make the best of it. The area is an extremely safe area and the housing development is guarded 24/7.

Btw it’s always hot and humid here. When we visited the housing site today we didn’t smell anything
