Do you ever feel like you don’t like your kid?

Do you ever not like them? I love him but right now I don’t feel like I like him and I feel so guilty for the feelings. He’s 18 months and in the phase where he constantly hits and screams and I’m just so overwhelmed. I never felt this way until recently. Maybe it’s because I’m pregnant. I just feel like a horrible mom and I don’t want to feel like this anymore 😞

I feel like if more people were actually honest about the fact that kids, even theirs, are fucking annoying…. Teenaged would think about things better. Like sure everyone tells teens “you don’t want a baby, they are hard work and cost a lot of money” but growing up no one ever warned me how fucking annoying they get. And weird!

Honey it's okay! You are just very hormonal and of course it can be a challenge to deal with temper tantrums! However, I would reach out! You don't wanna feel like you dislike your own child! I would ask primary or obg about some recommendations! Absolutely nothing wrong with medications esp while pregnant or to even having someone to talk to! You don't want to end up hurting each other or building a resentment on a child who doesn't even know whats going on.

Yup!! Of course I love my son with everything in me, but there’s PLENTY of times when I don’t like him or his behavior. It’s completely normal to love someone, including our own children, and not always like them/their behavior! Believe me, I totally understand the mom guilt, but we are human with valid feelings too!! Try not to be so hard on yourself. 💜

I was reading something funny on twitter about how toddlers are driving their parents nuts..
“My toddler started yelling at me saying he doesn’t like his twin brother…

It’s the hormones and it sounds like you need a extra hand.

I always like/love my kid. Do I always like everything she does — no. Do I always like the responsibility of having to care for someone else 24/7 — no. But it helps when you change your reaction to what they’re doing. Learning to ground yourself when you’re triggered helps a lot but it’s not easy by any means. Takes a lot of work but it does help.

100%. Half the time my 2 year old can be a real asshole 😂😂 I love him but holy hell he annoys the piss outta me sometimes. I feel guilty for it too. They say that the people you love know how to push your buttons in just the right way 😂😂 it’ll get easier mama

Yea I'm in the same boat my daughter will be 2 in October and she hits me all the time, throws toys at me, bites, kicks, pulls hair and generally treats me like a jungle gym and nothing I do helps. I can be in the middle of playing with her and she just attacks me and suddenly gets aggressive. There are definitely times where I'm not the biggest fan of her and that's okay I'm sure I annoy her sometimes too and she doesn't like me very much at that moment but I love her always
