nipple shields

i have to buy some nipple shields bc i can’t latch my baby on right & when i do latch him right it kind hurts, like pins & needles and i just can’t stand it anymore.. will the nipple shields affect my supply? bc honestly i feel like my supply getting low as he wont latch right .. i do give him formula but i want to breastfeed more. im at the point of just crying & giving up but i really don’t want to that’s why i think i should try the nipple shields.. i’ve watched so many videos and the lactation consultants already came to my house plenty of times i just can’t latch him right by myself. idk what im doing wrong
