Mom is just joking around

I got a text from my mom today, poking fun the time I was a teenager and had dark upper lip hair and had to bleach it because mom wouldn't let me take it off. She said they looked golden like silk and she forgot to give me comb to maintain it. I don't know why she tries joke around at my expense. I wasn't amused and replied to her that was a nightmare for me having to go through that because mom was too conservative. She said if she let me shave it off, I'd be having stubbles. I said there's waxing, creams whether I did it at 14 or 16 it didn't matter because it needed to be done. Her only response was "that's what happens when you're ignorant". No sorry, or that wasn't nice, she just quickly changed the subject.

I'm 37 now but I felt that my mom was sort of a bully towards me and I don't know if it's because she's bored or how she is or is to ignorant to understand but it's always been like that. She used to gang up on me with my brother often making fun of my appearance.

I don't brush it off anymore but how can someone be so thick???? Is this on purpose? I don't get it
