So let me just say right now I'm only expected to do the washing clothes and cooking as I am still getting used to being a mum of a toddler (13mo) and 2 week old. So the first month isn't so bad. But this is what is expected in the household

.... i don't actually think this is fair and things aren't distributed evenly. Am I wrong here?

He needs to do more, especially if you BOTH work. That’s nonsense that he doesn’t do any of the household chores

We both work. I have a 2 and 4 year old. I pick the kids up from daycare, he takes the kids while I cook, he puts things away and I do dishes. I don’t mind cooking and cleaning because he takes the kids out of the kitchen and they aren’t hanging on me. We do something as a family. I shower with my 2 year old and he gets her dry and dressed so I can get dressed then I bath our son while he gets our daughter a snack. He then gets our son a snack while I brush daughters teeth then he takes her up to be (we are weaning her) and when he comes down we put our son to bed together. I turn the dryer on and after our son is sleeping will fold clothes and my husband helps me. I put a new load in the washer and throw them in the dryer before bed. He handles the lawn, bills, helps me with the kids, and usually takes care of our cats but we have a sick one so we’ve been tag teaming. I suggest asking him to handle the bills and if he wants you to cook and clean, he has to occupy the kids. If your baby needs to eat, he has to take over. If he can’t agree to at least that, I don’t know how long I’d tolerate it.

That's basically what I do. I mean, I don't work, but I have two toddlers and a newborn. I do all the household stuff and kid stuff. My husband does do the laundry every weekend (I just wash towels and kids' clothes in between as needed). He also does all the house projects, including yard work. Sure, he gets more downtime than me most of the time, but I'm a mom and I agreed to these terms when we decided I stay home. Sure, it can be overwhelming, and when it is, I ask for help. But most of the time I just feel very blessed. He works incredibly hard to give us a beautiful life and I feel fulfilled doing my part to contribute.
