When did you know your marriage was over?

The only reason I haven’t split from my husband is because we have 3 children together, and also so many ties together.  A house, two cars.  And getting away from him and actually separating would be such a pain in the ass because he would be dramatic and start slamming the doors or whatever the hell.  I have No family or friends I. this state or any states near me.  Feeling pretty screwed.  I actually can’t fucking stand him anymore and our toxic-ass relationship.
When did y’all know it was time to divorce?

When the ONLY reason to stay was how difficult it would be to go. It is 100% already over. Sorry you’re going through that. From someone who has been there…it’s better on the other side no matter how long it takes to get there. Best wishes.

My aunt told me long long ago judge by how you feel when they walk through the door. If you’re happy you’re good, if you’re more anxious and scared or annoyed when your so gets home then it’s over. Sounds like you’ve been there for a while.

Don’t stay in a marriage for the sake of kids, I promise it’ll do more harm than good. I’d recommend leaving or kicking him out, and getting yourself and the kids into therapy. This is coming from someone whose parents were very toxic

You know it’s time when you have to ask this question. You also know it’s time when separating wouldn’t absolutely break you but you be a “pain in the ass.”  It’s better to leave for the kids to model healthy relationships than stay somewhere unhappy for the kids.

I highly, highly recommend you file as soon as possible. I have seen my cousin be in a toxic relationship for over a decade. Her oldest is 17/18 now and doesn’t even remember her parents being happy. Don’t do that to yourself or your children. Just because it’s difficult to separate assets, that’s not a reason to stay together. My cousin stayed because divorce is a stigma in our culture and her parents kept pressuring her to stay. She’s in her mid to late 40’s and now finally getting divorced. You can see the relief on her face. Honestly, I think it was stupid of her parents convincing her to stay. Their marriage was dead over 15 years ago. Don’t do this to yourself or your children. Move on.

He sounds like a child throwing tantrums start recording his bullshit secretly for court . He’s going to try and use the kids to hurt you. Cover your ass fully before you even tell him you’re leaving. It’s not going to be easy but you will be happier not having to have a hostile home anymore. But serous get his tantrums and emotional abuse on video it’ll show his character in court. Do not let him know you have this before court no matter what, no matter how mad you get. My ex got my kids and me having this proof was the only thing that got them back home with me.

Don’t stay in the relationship for the kids. My parents were & still are toxic to each other & I hated it then & I hate it now. Get out, take them with you, all 4 of you are better off.
