He’s mad I went on a date

I met a guy on tinder (R) and we spoke for a bit. Hung out a few times, but nothing really come from it tbh we just weren’t compatible, he lived about an hour away, and wasn’t willing to travel, I had to go to him, I have a toddler (single mom) so that was a bit of a hassle for me too, he was really inconsistent with what he wanted in terms of a relationship and I’m not looking for that yknow? I know what I want but we got along well and agreed we could probably be good friends but romantically it didn’t seem realistic, so we’ve stayed friendly, chatting every few days but the boundary is always there that it’s just a friendship now! So anyhow I got asked out on a date last week by an old childhood friend out of the blue after seeing him in the store and accepted because I had the biggest crush on this guy throughout school (which was like 15 years ago now) so I went out with him last night and it was good, we caught up and had a great time, he’s also got a daughter from a previous marriage who is only a year older than my son, this morning R text asking what I was up to last night because he didn’t hear back from me and I told him I was on a date with an old friend from school and he was NOT HAPPY, told me I’m messing with his head and that I’m basically cheating on him, I explained we are just friends and I’m welcome to date whoever I want to, as is he, there’s nothing more here between us but he was really really annoyed about it and told me he was going back on tinder to find someone “worth his time” has gone ahead and blocked me everywhere. I don’t particularly care tbh, I don’t really know this guy we’ve hung out 3-4 times, we get along but this isn’t a huge loss for me but I can’t help but feel a bit guilty, what if he actually does think we are an item and I’m screwing around on him? (Did not have sex with either of them. Shared a few kisses with R and a goodnight kiss last night)
