Who comes first

Our baby has been sick for 3 days - not improving - we were told to take her to the hospital so she can have a chest X-ray. So I took her nice and early 8am - as I happened to have a day off work too! The baby ends up being admitted so she can be monitored, giving antibiotics, fluids, break this 3 day fever, etc.

We texted through the day because service is bad here but when my husband was done work I was able to call him and explained everything that was going on, how they want her to stay for 2 nights, asked if he could bring more diapers for her and clothes for me.

His response.

“I told you last week I was stopping by my parents for dinner today after work….I wasn’t planning on coming to the hospital…and I work in the morning.”

(Just for the record his parents aren’t sick or unwell it wasn’t an “important “ visit in my opinion - also a visit the baby and I weren’t even invited to a week ago before the baby was feeling crappy).

I took it upon myself to just say “okay then” and hung up.

Who comes first? Do I need to really ask? Yes because I think because I’m in it I can’t see past my own personal views or opinions.

Who comes first? His parents? Or our little family unit?
