Missed miscarriage D&c or pills?

I’m having a missed miscarriage with an empty sack measuring 7.5 weeks. 
I’ve had a D&c four years ago and everything went well but the anesthesia was scary for me and I felt like I was suffocating. I got pregnant with my rainbow five months later. 
I’m leaning towards taking the pills- misoprostol to have a chance at avoiding the surgery and being able to conceive again sooner. My husband and I would like to try again ASAP because our other kids are getting older and I am too.

I had a MMC last month and chose a D&C.  I was not sure at first and almost changed my mind and went with the pills but I’m glad I didn’t.  A D&C was the right decision for me and my family.  Know that there is no wrong choice to make.  It’s just what feels like the better choice for you and your family.
I had a natural miscarriage a few months before and it was so painful and I couldn’t even pick up my toddler.  From others I had talked to they said they experienced the worst labour pains in such a short time when they chose the pills and you still don’t know for sure how long it will take.  I knew after surgery it would be done and if we were ready after the 2 weeks and bleeding had stopped we were fine to try again.  I had really bad cramping for a few days but a heating pad relieved the most of it and other than that I felt ready to get back to all my daily activities by the end of the first week.  It was much longer after my first miscarriage.

I had 2 D&C one at 18 weeks I had spinal block and the D&C was decided for my retained placenta. Then my 2nd at 15 weeks I went under. I woke up with SVT, had crash cart called not once but twice and I was alert the whole time. Very scary experience. With my 3rd miscarriage, I also had an empty sac measuring 6+1 week. I opted for misoprostol. I took Tylenol right when I had my first dose of misoprostol. I only needed 2 doses to pass the empty sac. I’d have to say that my 3rd miscarriage was actually a lot more peaceful, because I was able to pass it at home with no issues nor pain at all. After I passed the sac attached to the placenta (I was told I would pass lots of blood clots, but I was able to verify that it was the sac attached to placenta) I started to bleed heavy and passed a lemon size clot. That’s when I took 800mg ibuprofen because it helps to slow down the bleeding. My heavy bleeding stopped an hour after I took the ibuprofen and I continued to take them as needed for bleeding. I had no pain at all and had a better experience taking the medications instead of the surgery.

Same happened to me hun and I opted for the medication management first and luckily enough it worked within 24hrs I just made sure I took regular pain medication for 3 to 5days just so i wasn’t in any pain. They did say if it didn’t work I could opt for D and C and I would have if the medication hadn’t of worked, so sorry for loss hun 💕💕

Do you require anesthesia? You should be able to request just a sedative that calms you down. I was completely awake and fine for my procedure and don’t even consider it a surgery it went so well and I recovered almost immediately so “easy” procedures definitely are possible. I was also almost as far along as they let you go for them (18 weeks)

I had to take the medicine twice but it worked and I avoided surgery. It doesn’t always work on the first try but my doctor said that’s not unusual as as long as you don’t have an infection you can just try again.  Second time it worked pretty quickly.

Last fall I had a missed miscarriage too. The sack was measuring 8 weeks + but there was no sight of a fetus. 
I took Misoprostol twice, but the were still remains of tissue left in my uterus. Had to go through D&C. Now I wish I had opted for d&c right away, would have saved me time and several sad ultrasounds …
