Am I overreacting about this or is it valid?

I can’t decide. Like it bothers me but I feel like it shouldn’t and I should get over it myself.

My bf doesn’t always tell me stuff right away and it makes me upset. Like important stuff he does so that’s what counts. Which is why I think I’m being dumb, and I’d appreciate someone knocking sense into me if that’s the case. And telling me if it’s worth mentioning to him.

Like he had to go out of town last minute for something and he called and texted me and I didn’t see because I was at work but called him back as soon as I could and I asked why he called and stuff because he knew I was at work, and he told me he might have to go out of town that evening and didn’t want me to think he kept it from me until last minute. I appreciated that.

But then there’s stuff like when he was at his parents house and decided just to stay the night there. Which obviously I don’t mind at all (we don’t live together) but it’s just that he didn’t tell me until I asked. He never stays the night at parents but he was stuck there until late and it’s a bit of a drive back to his place.

Again, not upset or annoyed he stayed the night, AT ALL. Just kinda thrown off that he didn’t tell me until I asked and it was like midnight.

These are just examples. But I hope they portrayed the general idea.

I think it’s because my last bf didn’t tell me what he was doing and stuff. But it was worse than this so that’s why I think it’s just a me problem and I’m scared of the same stuff repeating. Idk if it’s worth making this post extra long and explaining the stuff about my ex but I could.

Anyway, do I tell my bf that this little stuff like that bothers me but I’m working on it? Or do I say nothing? Or is it valid I get a little upset. I don’t even think upset is the right word, more just thrown off a bit
