Breakups

How would you break up with someone you’ve known for 4+ years? This is my first real relationship but I know we both see it ending in the long run. He was good to me but I’m growing and expecting more out of my relationships. I never get to see him cuz he’s always at school or at his job and I feel like he doesn’t care for me as much anymore. We’ve had talks like this basically weekly so I’ve told him what I’ve wanted out of this relationship and I haven’t seen any changes. I feel like I’ll always love him tho and I can’t imagine living life without him or is that just cuz we’ve been together for so long. Idk I don’t know what to think anymore, I barley feel like I can think for myself, my heart hurts
