How long for tear to heal?

Hi mommas ❤️ my baby was born 4 days ago and I had a 1st degree tear. It’s not that bad, but it is soo painful. Getting out of bed or walking is torture. Can I ask how long did it take for yours to feel okay? I think part of my problem is that I needed some stitches in the labia, so since that skin “hangs” it rubs against clothes making it worse

I had a second degree tear with my first and it bothered me for 7-10 days especially when lifting/spreading my legs to do things such as getting into bed or in the car. Had a first degree with my second and honestly felt like nothing happened and never felt anything with it. Both were in the same general spot.

Depends on the person I guess. I had two 3 degree tears with my first two, took a longgggg time to feel better, like 4-8 weeks) . This time I had a 2nd degree tear and never even noticed it and I’m a week PP. no pain at all. I had a labia tear for my last one and you’re right. It helps to wear tight underwear to keep the labia from rubbing too much.

Not sure since I’ve only had a c section, but try wearing mesh panties and dresses for a while. It might help with chafing.
