Foley Balloon Questions

I am 39+1 today and have no signs of labour coming on and not dilated at all. I am trying for a VBAC this time and never went into labour last time either! I was told that at 41 weeks they will try a Foley Balloon to induce labour (can't be given Cervadil) and I was wondering if anyone has had one and what to expect? Did it work for anyone? I was told they were just looking to get my cervix dilated enough to break my water, does that sound normal? Thanks for all the help, can't wait to start snuggling this little one!
