I’m home with my 3 month old on maternity leave. During the week when he’s awake during the day, I try to alternate between: feeding, reading, tummy time, playing on the activity gym, and walking outside. But now that he’s able to sit in his swing or in the activity gym alone and entertain himself for 10-15 minutes at a time, I’d like to get some housework done. Is it bad if I leave him to play alone for 10-15 minutes a few times/day so I can get stuff done? The swing detaches so it’s actually more like a seat and I put it in the kitchen so he can watch me cook or fold laundry.

Is that bad for development? I tried to research it but couldn’t find anything about independent play for babies this young.
