Anyone else’s baby only sleeps for 30 min naps?

My 2 month old started taking 30 min naps shortly after turning 1 month old out of the blue. I think I have tried to do everything to lengthen his naps but the only thing that works is breastfeding for an hour while he sleeps. Pacifiers fall and he wakes up.

My 2 month old will take one good long midday nap in his crib for 2-3 hours, all of his other naps are about 35-50 minutes on my boob, either in his mouth or just cuddling my bare boob, if I put my boob away he wake up immediately. I know for him no matter how long his last nap was his next one needs to be in an hour and a half or he is miserable and has a hard time going to sleep. So I just make sure my almost 3 yo has stuff to keep her occupied, I have the remote, my phone,  a full water bottle and empty bladder and snuggle him while I can because I know it won’t last forever. My daughter was the same way and needed to contact nap.

Yep, our baby did that for awhile. 
Does baby do ok with the short naps? Like are they fussy/acting like they need more? Because some babies just don’t need as much sleep. 
Either way our baby eventually started to nap more. But it took a looooong time. But now he’s a great napper.

Yup! Both my jerks (I love them to death) have done this to me 😂 the best thing is to embrace it because it’s here to stay. But it’s very easy for them to get overtired because they’re jerks and don’t nap. So figure out baby’s sleep cues and then time it. It will be very consistent within a few minutes. Example. My now 5 month old cannot handle being awake longer than an hour and 15 minutes, MAYBE an hour and a half. Then he takes a 30-45 minute nap and bam. Wonderful baby who isn’t over tired.
