Does your child's school system follow common Core curriculum and if so how do you feel about it?

I've chosen homeschool my child for many different reasons and one reason is that my local school system follows common Core curriculum which shows that it is way below the standard for the state's minimum requirements for children's education. Schools in my area are some of the highest percentage of children not meeting the minimum expectation required by the state to pass their grade. The head of the department of education has signed waivers so our schools can use common Core curriculum even though it doesn't even meet the States minimum requirements. I don't understand how this is okay at all and feel like my county is failing children by teaching this curriculum which by the way this curriculum is incredibly difficult for children to understand and most of it makes zero sense to me anyway.
