Do you think our relationship will work if I don’t like his sister ???

My bf and I have been together over a year. We live together. I don’t really like his sister.  I try very hard to like her. I am always nice to her when I’m around her of course. And I never expressed my feelings to him because I figure that he would be mad at me.  
I just don’t like her personality and her vibe. If she wasn’t his sister, she just wouldn’t be a girl that I would be friends with or anything like that. 
He is close with her and very protective of her. He has posted stuff on social media calling her his best friend and saying that nothing makes him smile more than his sister. And that honestly hurt my feelings because I think that’s something you would say about me … not her. 
There has been times where if he’s talking to me on the phone and she calls, he’ll get off the phone with me to answer her.  But there has been times where I’ve called him and he didn’t answer me, and then called me back 20 mins later and said “sorry I was talking to my sister”. So he ignores me but rushes to answer her calls. 
Idk. I know it’s his sister but I definitely feel second place to her.   I have a sister as well. And I love her to death. But I do have a special place in my heart for my bf and I put him first. 
Do you guys think I’m just overreacting? Do you think we will work if I don’t like his sister ?

I’ll be the odd one out here. 
Even though you may not see her as friend potential, doesn’t mean you two can’t be civil around each other. 
You two don’t have to be best friends, or even fake friends. I think it’s possible to co-exist together, be friendly and civil when everyone is together. 
However it depends on the relationship you two have. If your boyfriend expects you and his sister to be best friends, and can’t accept anything less than that, and that’s something that doesn’t work for YOU, well that kind of tells you what you need to know. 
Anyways, I don’t really know. It’s best to have a conversation about the future if you two are getting serious. Try getting a clearer picture of what his morals, views, expectations are, etc. See if this situation, his family, and your relationship is something that you can see and work with in the future. If it’s something that works for you, if not then it’s okay to go separate ways. 
Just have a conversation, talk it out. And if you want, bring your concerns/feelings up (about feeling less of a priority) see what he says. If he understands your perspective, etc. That’s an opportunity right there to see where he stands with you, and where you stand with him. And if this is the relationship for you.

I don’t like my husbands sister and every time there is an argument amongst us my husband always thinks she’s right and I’m wrong, In my situation he will always put his sister first and I feel sometime unsupported and second best and his sister is his number one priority. I still love my husband and the only time we argue is regarding his sister otherwise we never do. I say try to be honest and upfront how you feel towards his sister and try to come up with solutions on how to reduce some effects she has on your relationship, when it comes to your relationship you both need to do what’s best for each other without thinking of a third person. My husband does sometimes say she’s a better person then you, you are jealous of her or you need to change your attitude because in their eyes and mind their sister will always be right.

Is he like that with the rest of his family or only her. He may have grown up with the mindset that family comes first, so of course you come second. Or maybe she’s been through a lot, and that’s why he’s overprotective of her. If he’s like this, with the whole family, then, absolutely, they come first and you are a back up p￼lan always. you could be in the hospital, he’ll go running to them, you could be sick, at home, and he’ll go running to them, You could be giving birth to your baby, and he’ll go running to them. is the fact that you don’t like her, because he makes her a priority over you, or that you didn’t like her prior to finding this out. Because it’s sounding like the fact that she’s prioritized over you, makes you like her even less. Clearly, if you expressed to him that you don’t like her, he probably is going to drop you, so either you kissed this girls ass, for the rest of your life, if you stay with him, suck it up and take one for the team because you want to be with him, or you’ll learn your place, that you are a back up plan and they come first. Or perhaps this isn’t a relationship for you. Have a conversation with him, find out why she’s more important, but at the same time, it’s just gonna make you look salty, petty, jealous, and insecure, possessive, etc.. so keep that in mind. ￼he’s probably gonna drop you if you don’t like or get along with her. Welcome to walking on eggshells. You gotta watch what you say, Facial expressions, even.
