Freaking out

My bf bought me a very expensive ring a few years ago and this weekend we stayed in the city. Before I took a shower, I gave him the ring and I completely forgot I did that. im back home now and can’t find it anywhere and my bf thinks he gave it back to me. the hotel isn’t answering rn. im just really upset and sad :( it really doesn’t matter it’s just material thing and I can’t tell my bf doesn’t get why i’m crying but still I can’t help being upset about this.
