When does it get better ???

Question

Anyone else have pain still when they go pee? I am three weeks postpartum and when I go pee it still hurts sometimes or is uncomfortable. I did have a catheter because of the epidural and not sure if that’s why. I don’t remember if I had it last this long with my other kids.

I used a peri bottle and would lean way forward to pee and that helped tremendously. If it doesn’t stop at 6 weeks then I would mention it to my obgyn. Otherwise you had trauma to the place with catheter being there so give it time to heal. Use dermoplast and/or witch hazel to take off the sting and help it heal. (I’ve heard someone recommend to spray the numbing dermoplast on the region before peeing so it doesn’t sting, then rinse with peri bottle, then apply witch hazel). Hope this helps 💖

I had a catheter as well and peeing after was weird, it felt like it all came out super fast and a bigger flow (hard to describe) but I never had pain when going. I’d consult your doctor if it’s been 3 weeks as it may be an infection or UTI

I would consult your dr too. I had a catheter too but the pain/ discomfort / abnormal peeing shouldn’t be there after a few weeks, so it definitely needs checking out incase there’s an infection to treat.

Maybe you have a UTI if it hurts to pee.
Did you tear? If you did, is it the pressure on the healing tear?
