Potty training accidents

So my son has been potty trained for about a year now. He’s 4. Still has accidents over night more times than that but Iv always been told that’s really common for boys. Recently though he’s started pooping in his pants probably in the last 4-6 months and 6 times in total. Always when he’s playing video games and he’s literally told me “I didn’t want to pause the game” I’ll take away the tv for the rest of the night, but my boyfriend gives it back soon as he gets home or the next morning. Which is a whole other problem. I don’t have the energy to keep fighting with this man on top of raising my son. Can anyone tell me why this keeps happening? Or what I can do?
