UPDATE: Brother-in-law confessed his feelings for me

The original post about this is about 25ish posts down from this one. Read that first.

I told my husband the other night after everyone left, and he was upset. With his brother, not me. We were at a complete loss as to what to do, but now my husband thinks it would be best if we got together with his brother this weekend and talked this through. To figure out to what extent this is going to affect their relationship, if this is going to turn into a bigger issue and not just a one time confession, if we need to get the entire family involved or if we can keep this quiet, etc. To figure out how, or even if, we all can move forward.

I don't know how I feel meeting with him right now. I know his brother wouldn't try to do anything to/with me or hurt me, and my husband wouldn't let anything happen to me, but this is such an uncomfortable situation. My husband feels it's important for all three of us to talk this out together, but he's not going to force me to do anything I'm not comfortable with.

Part of me is just really hurt. I've always liked his brother, in a brother-in-law/maybe even slight friend sense. He's such a normal guy. It's not like he's some creeper, so on some level it was expected. He's not the type to try and start up drama or act impulsively. He doesn't do anything unless he"s put a lot of thought into it. We always talked and joked around at family gatherings. Now I don't think we can ever go back to how things were.

When he called me, it didn't sound like he had been drinking, like he was mentally unwell, or anything like that. He sounded like his normal self, just a little vulnerable and scared. He sounded genuine. So I feel like that makes it harder for anyone to try and help him through this.

My husband and I are both just hurt and confused right now (I assume his brother feels the same way, but for a different reason). We don't know what the right way to handle this is.
