I think your mom is just taking your side and being protective as your mother but yeah she should let go, if he's stepped up he shouldn't constantly be ridiculed for the past, that's just going to make the situation worse.

First of all you shouldnt have run to your mom with your marital problems to begin with because you may move on from them but your family wont. Secondly you and your husband should be a unified front and she shouldnt dislije him for no reason, but by 'playing games' you mean hes been mistreating you, thats a legitimate reason to not like him and you cant expect her to just overlook that.

Your mother is protective of you being her child. But she is being a bit of a bully. Your mother needs to let go and be open to him changing. And instead of only highlighting when he does a small thing wrong which will trigger her to bring up his passed… she needs to sit back and respect you as her daughter and let you know she is always there if things go wrong. And that’s it.
