Husband up and left

I’m close with someone and her husband has just up and left his wife (my friend ) and their little kids. He has anger issues and the past few times he’s came over to see them all, it’s resulted in holes in the wall and screaming matches.

He keeps telling her that he just needs to clear his head and they need to communicate more.. but she is doing everything she can to talk to him and he refuses. She’s asked if he’s done, if she needs to work on things… etc. all he can give her is IDK.

Has anyone else experienced this? To me, it seems like he is just done, wants to be single and not have anymore worries of a family and doesn’t know how to tell her. She’s the sweetest mom and friend and it’s so heart breaking to see her and their kids have to go through this.
