Recurring loss
I have had 2 miscarriages, with a healthy full term pregnancy in between. After the second my midwife wants to go ahead and do a recurring pregnancy loss panel, partially due to family history (my mom had several miscarriages as well) and the new acog recommendation is that 2 miscarriages is recurring loss (don’t need to be back to back) and testing should be considered after the second (if you didn’t know advocate for yourself, no need to have to wait for a 3rd like many providers suggest)
my hcg is zero but she wants me to wait 6 weeks to have the clotting labs done then at least 2 weeks to come back then 2 weeks after that an appointment to discuss and make a plan for future pregnancies. I’m struggling because my cycle returns to normal rather quickly and I obviously want to be pregnant again, but don’t want to risk something being wrong and suffering another miscarriage before we can diagnose and treat. Has anyone been in a similar situation? How long did it take to get your labs back? Was anything wrong? Did you do anything different next pregnancy?
Of note I’m 27, healthy, normal BMI and initial testing shows normal A1C, normal thyroid, normal uterus.
