Bf likes to spoil me when we fight

So I’ve noticed a pattern in my bf that when we fight he likes to do things that I always ask when we are okay but he won’t do them. For instance if I ask for like chocolate, wine, dinner date, clean the house, make dinner etc during regular days he will be reluctant to do but when we fight he will get a whole chocolate cake plus wine make dinner even go extra miles, cook clean be extra nice,

Thing is when we fight all those things don’t matter to me and I end up turning them down (but deep down I appreciate obviously) because that’s not what I want in that moment.

Is this a typical guys thing maybe a passive apology or something? Or this is just who he is because I get confused sometimes. He’s done this way too many times now.
