What to expect d&c?

9 weeks 5 days today and finally got confirmation of a blighted ovum. The sac did have a yolk sac and fetal pole but it never grew bigger than 6 weeks 1 day with no heartbeat. My hcg levels are in the 50,000 range. Still have no bleeding and no pain. Zero signs anything was wrong. They are scheduling me for a d&c and I was hoping some of you ladies who have had a d&c can tell me what to expect? Very nervous!

They did comparative ultrasounds to make sure youre just not as far along as you thought? I had missed miscarriage at 9 weeks, my d&c was painless, I took Advil for 1 day after and was tired for 2-3 days, but was otherwise fine. But Im glad my friend warned me in advance that the paperwork described her d&c procedure as an abortion....mine did as well, so Im glad she mentally prepared me for that.

I’ve had two now, both under general, not much pain afterwards just bleeding for about 5-7 days. So so sorry for your loss xx

I had one because part of the placenta didn’t come out, and it was super uncomfortable. They gave me a muscle relaxer to take before the appointment, and numbing shots into my cervix. When they use the suction it feels like a really big cramp. They should give you something for pain afterwards and you’ll probably wanna rest for a few days
