17 month old suddenly barely eating

Is it normal for a kid his age to just not care about food as much? He use to eat soooo good all three meals but now I’m lucky if I can get him to eat a couple bites at all. He will eat pouches sometimes so at least he gets some fruit and veg but when it comes to actual food he usually throws it immediately or starts crying. He drinks milk and water fine. My husband is extremely concerned and thinks he’s starving himself but we have never been around toddlers so we don’t know what’s normal or what’s not.

Also I don’t think it’s pickiness bc even if I give him his favorite foods like Mac n cheese or a pasta he still won’t eat it most of the time now
