SAHMs: What age did you let someone babysit your child?

My daughter is 8 months and I am not comfortable the idea of someone besides my husband or i taking care of her anytime soon. However, there’s a concert i want to go to around the time that she’d be a year old and I’ve been considering asking my parents to come watch her. It just freaks me out. Wondering how other parents approached this

When i was a SAHM i needed a break more than ever because its 24/7 non-stop work (eventually gave up and put my daughter in daycare). But if you're concerned, ive done it where a babysitter comes to the house and watches my kid while I'm home so I can cook/clean/relax. That way you can see how they do and get more comfortable with the idea of leaving your child with them.

I COMPLETELY trust my in laws. They took my baby to their house to stay the night when she was only a month old. She's 4 now and stays there regularly. I wouldn't send them with someone you don't trust 100%. But you also deserve a break.

I have 4 people I’d trust with my baby. My mom, my twin sister, my husbands mom, and his sister. It’s all about trust!! If you don’t trust anyone then I’d continue to stay home! I really try to only do things when my husband can be home though. I trust him 100%. Everyone else listed is like 98% lol.

My toddler is almost three and only babysat for a few hours at a time by one or two people. He’s never been overnight anywhere and won’t for anytime in the near future. Before I let anyone babysit, I watch how the interact with my kid while I’m present. That definitely made me more comfortable leaving him alone anywhere.

My in-laws watched my baby for the first time when she was 4 months old to go to a wedding down the street from them. It was great for all of us. She first spent the night with my in-laws at 18 months old and their house and then with my mother at our house when I was in the hospital having her brother. She was a dream. 
I trust my in-laws and parents with my children. No so much anyone else, so I get it.

I’ll be honest, my baby will be 1 next week. I work part time, but in a home office and he goes with me so basically sahm. Yesterday my husband and I had an appointment at the bank. My mom had my boy for just over 2 hours and I was sick to my stomach 😔 I wish I wasn’t like this.

With my first I didn’t until he was a year old
My second I waited until he was 9 months 
And I had no choice with my third as I had a pulmonary embolism a month and a half after I gave birth but now he’s staying with me until he is able to walk on his own

My parents looked after my son overnight for the first time when he was 9 months old. I have no concerns over my parents doing this, more felt bad for them if he didn’t sleep well.

i think there’s a difference between family looking after your baby and a stranger! If you think the grandparents are fully capable and loving towards your baby i would definitely let them watch her! I would leave my little one with grandparents at anytime but never with a stranger babysitter at a young age! 
If your little one seems happy to go them i would go to the concert!
