Are you terrified of mass shootings or do you not think about it?

I am so scared of mass shootings esp because my baby is going into kindergarten next year.  Omg I’m so terrified of even going to the grocery store, anywhere.

It happened at the middle school i attended. It's the number one reason we are moving out of the country next winter. I cannot handle the fear of living here, worrying for my family like this.

No. I know my children will be well protected in school and nobody would be stupid enough to try and do anything at the schools in my community. I’m not afraid of anything happening in my community in general. When we go to other cities for grocery shopping or other stuff I do a quick run through in my head of where we would go and what our plan would be in case of any emergency. That’s all we can do, we can never control what happens to us outside our home. A bad person with a gun isn’t the only threat to life on a daily basis. I’m not going to live my life in fear 24/7.

It's concerning obviously, but any type of homicide isn't even in the top 10 causes of death. So I try not to allow it to consume me with fear. I still have a life to live and I wont live it stuck in fear response.

I’ve been texting my mom and SIL about how I’ll probably be homeschooling because of a shooting threat at the school next to me and all other shootings. I just came here to see your post. So sad the world we live in now

I’m in the uk so don’t have to worry about this (Bare in mind it’s not the best place for crime) but guns, we get done for a BB gun(kids gun with plastic ball things) never mind a real gun. my heart goes out to you all. Why guns are handed out like sweets I don’t know. But what I do know is I wouldn’t be sending my kids to school, I wouldn’t be going out enjoying my self on a night in a bar and I wouldnt even feel safe walking on the street! I would practically be house bound if I lived in the us and even then I still wouldn’t feel safe😂 it’s so sad it breaks my heart for you all

I try not to think about it because I have so much stress I’m dealing with in my personal life if I dewelled on the idiots that got a wire lose I would not be able to get out of bed and that’s already a struggle due to depression
