I feel bad I do

I’m with my current boyfriend and I love him to death but i he doesn’t rlly do things like complimenting me or calling me sweet names. I sometimes I like to think about past exs and how they would make me feel loved or just smile at my phone. I don’t think of them but the words they would say and how it made me feel. I wish he would do that for me too. I tried mentioning I wish he was more loving towards me bc I overthink easily but he literally struggles to do so bc of stuff that has happened to him. Does anyone else do this? I’m not missing old people I just dream/fantasize/hope he would call me his or compliment me
