Teenagers on Playgrounds

Abigail

Okay, so I took my daughter to the playground today, and when we got there, there was a group of middle schoolers, maybe 12-14 age range. They were swearing (a lot of f bombs), wrapping the big disk swing around multiple times (they actually damaged the rope once I unwrapped it), tried to flip the regular swings over the bar to make them shorter, etc. I eventually told them that they shouldn’t be doing what they were doing to the swings because it makes it hard for people to use them. They just stared at me like, “Who are you to tell as what is best.” We left early because of them. The equipment is designed for kids up to age 12 too.

Does anyone else have these problems?

What would you do in this situation?

Is there anything that can be done about it?

My daughter is 2 and is so impressionable and I hate when she is around the language and just kids being a bad example. I don’t want her learning the f word either haha. I’m just so fed up with it and wish these kids had more respect for others and the playground.
