Am I wrong?

This is the kids dad! I’ve been taking care of my 2 and 3 year old by myself since I had my daughter. He doesn’t call to check on them, help me with anything besides daycare. He doesn’t come to see them but he want to take them hours away for a wedding. His family knows what type of person he is but my mom is saying I’m wrong

Upd info: these are messages from my children’s dad.!we have not spoke in months because he has a gf. He has not checked in on the kids nor has he even checked to see if they are still breathing.!he messaged me last week asking if he could take the kids hours away to a wedding and I told him no. If his parents aren’t going the kids will not go either. He’s never really been by hisself with the kids and I don’t trust it. My mom told me I was wrong for keeping them away from him
