Am I wrong for having this feeling?

I feel like asking my husband for a divorce because he isn’t keeping his promise to me. My husband knows the kind of upbringing that I had and my fear of not wanting that for our children. Before I agreed to marry my husband, he made these promises to me.

1) that he would be present in our children’s life. It’s not about them seeing him at home everyday but about him actually doing things with them.

2) that he would do their homework with them majority of the time. This was something that I wish my father did with me but he didn’t. My memory of growing up is seeing my mum struggle to do everything with no help from my father. My husband is doing the same thing.

After so many years in marriage, he is still not making any effort to keep his promises, So many times I have reminded him about the things that he promised to do and isn’t doing. So many times I have been straight forward to ask him to be doing them. So many times I have hinted them to him. Yet he isn’t doing them.

I don’t want my children becoming adults and having little memories of spending them with their father. Our oldest child is almost 6 years old and her father has only taken her out just twice and these two times were because I practically dragged him out with us.

I do everything and I haven’t been complaining but it’s becoming too much. I have asked for help so many times but there are no changes. This isn’t what he promised me. He is doing exactly like my father did.

I travelled this week to see my mum for a few days so I wasn’t around to do my daughter’s homework with her. Before I left, I told my husband to please make time even if it’s just an hour to do the homework with her. Guess what? He didn’t do it. He submitted her undone homework to her teacher. Imagine the embarrassment. Imagine what the teacher would be thinking?

If I am going to be managing alone like a single parent when I am married, what is the point of being married?
