New to Mirena

Hello everyone,

So 4 days ago I got Mirena, and it’s been awful ever since. It started when the OBGYN put it in, I was in so much pain I almost threw up and passed out on her. I cried for a couple hours after it got implanted because of how much it hurt during, and then the cramps afterwards. Now it’s been a few days and the cramps are still so bad, my friend said I looked like I was “possessed” because that’s how my body went with the cramps. I also want to mention that it really cramps worse on my left side compared to my right side. I only started Mirena because I was on Depo for 2+ years and saw that it would start to affect my bones and stuff in a negative way. I was on the pill before Depo, but I’m a forgetful girl and never took it everyday no matter how I tried. My OBGYN said cramps are normal for a 2-3 weeks afterwards, but these cramps are so bad I’ve called out of work. Is there a way to know when they’ll get better because the way things are going I want to rip this thing out of me :(
