Period after IUD removal

I got my first period after IUD removal (4 days after removal but also when I was due to get it). I’m on my 8th day of bleeding and it’s still going strong. Prior to my IUD I had 4-5 day mild periods. I had my IUD for 2 years and bled 10+ days each month, as well as other painful symptoms and new ovarian cysts (never had prior to IUD) I was hopeful I would go back to normal after removal, and realize it may just take some time for my periods to normalize, but wondering if others have had this experience? Or how long it took to have a normal period again?
