TTC question

Posting in here because I usually get the most responses. So I got the little ovulation strips that the lines have to be the same color when you’re ovulating and if it’s lighter you’re not ovulating. I tested yesterday and the color was almost as dark as the other line but not there yet so I know I wasn’t ovulating but though maybe I was close. I tested today and the line was significantly lighter then the other line. Is that normal? Or does the darkness or lightness not matter unless it’s the same as the other line? Did I Miss ovulation? I’m just confused, I hope all of that made sense!
