Does this sound good to send to my ex?

For context, we broke up about 4 weeks ago and he stole the dog that we shared with one another. We agreed that we were going to share him and the day after when I was supposed to pick him up, I noticed that he blocked me. He has still responded to emails regarding other things though. I just wanted to reach out one last time before having the cops serve him the summons papers. I know I’ll win the case if we go to court but I just want to try to work things out, outside of court. And if things doesn’t work then I’ll add this as further proof that I tried. 
“Hey can we please sit down and talk? I understand that you may be hurting but I am too. Not only did I lose the pregnancy but I also lost you and ___ in the process. It really hurts that you said that you can’t trust me anymore when you looked me dead in my face and told me that we could be friends and share ___, only for you to block me. It’s not fair that you tried to make the decision that you get to keep him when I paid for ___ and have all of his vet and registration information in my name. If you continue to keep from me then I will proceed with to pursuing small claims. I purchased ___ and his registration and vet papers are in my name so this will not look good on your behalf if this happens.”

This is too much. You’re putting too much emotion in the email and threatening him will get you know where. 
At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter whose name is on the licensure for the dog or at the vet- who is the dog bonded to? Sharing a dog is not going to work in the long run and dogs need stability- they don’t understand human issues. You can’t explain separation and custody to a dog. 
A simple, “Can we talk about the dog please. It’s important to me. I’d like to see if we can resolve his issue.”

I agree with the other commenter, this is too much emotion. Cut it all out and keep it cold and professional. He’s probably doing it to hurt you, so him seeing that you’re still emotionally attached to him and the situation will make him react that way too. I think you’ll have a better chance of getting your dog back if you just detach

￼good luck trying to settle this out of court, he’s doing this on purpose, you know this already. You can send the email if you want to, but most likely, it’s going to be the police or the court, or whoever to force him to return the dog. It’s been a month that you’ve been dealing with this , clearly he’s doing this to spite you.

Nope it's pretty bad, sorry. Either say nothing and file the papers, or simply say "I paid for the dog and vet bills and therefore I will be pursuing it legally if we are unable to do so amicably'. Do NOT add the part about him 'looking bad' or anything else related to your relationship....if he brings that message to court, this could actually make YOU look bad, like this is just a way of you releasing baggage and hurt vs really being about the dog's ownership and welfare. Stop sending any messages like that.

Sadly, you cannot share a dog after you break up. It just doesn't work out well. Especially with someone you do not have a good relationship with. I would say that if he has blocked you, that is a clear indication that he does not want communication with you. Respect it. And file in small claims so you can get your dog back. ￼

Way too much enotion. Tell him you'd like to settle the issue about the dog in a civil manner, but if he can't do that then you'll take him to court. Stop giving him so much of your energy and the satisfaction of knowing he's hurting you.
