Nicotine Withdrawal - Coping strategies?

Hi!

So my bf (4+ years) has decided to quit nicotine (thank gooooodnesss!!) but is going through withdrawal, whether he realizes it or not. He has anxiety and depression, sees a therapist, but clearly his withdrawal is emphasizing his negative mental health feelings. I am a therapist, but also have worked on separating being a girlfriend & being a therapist due to past situations related to his trauma. I am trying to figure ways to distract him during this time of emphasized negative feelings, but he’s riding the “I don’t think that will help.” He works from home, and had his vape with him obviously more than someone who works in an office would. It was never a thing that got in the way of our relationship also to note!

SO if anyone has any advice, experience, strategies, PLEASE let me know!!!

I don’t know if he quit for me, because vaping has terrified me incredibly with how no one really knows the long term effects, so I make it known how appreciative I am. We have a very good relationship, when it comes to mental health it just gets tricky when I have to turn off the therapist light.
