condom question please help

So my bf and I had sex and we use a condom EVERYTIME. He cums in the condom while in me but then pulls out. We did it the other day and the cum came up the side of the condom a little bit because it was a lot. It didn’t seem to come out the top because we checked and he said it was a good seal around his penis. There were no holes or anything either. Do you think the condom was still effective in this situation?
