Was what he said rude?

Yesterday my cat passed away that I have had since I was 8, I’m 20 now. Technically the cat was my brothers but he never took care of him and he moved away so really tootie(the cats name) was mine, he was my bestest buddy and he loved to sit on my shoulder or around my neck like a scarf and sometimes he wouldn’t get off so I would walk around with him. Recently like 3 months ago I moved in with my bf out of state, and I was supposed to get tootie and two of my other pets the second month I moved down here but plans changed. I bought a ticket last week to come get them on the 10.😢 I was and am still really upset and when I told my boyfriend what happened he goes oh I thought weenie died. Weenie is my dachshund and I replied no my cat tootie died and then he said well it wasn’t actually your cat. 💀 I can’t stop crying since yesterday and he made it like I was supposed to move on quickly and feel better just bc he took me out yesterday. Am I overreacting or is that just rude? I’m really sad but I know I’ll see him again I just wish I could of said goodbye.
