Would you tell your son’s mother this info?

I am a step mom to a wonderful 14 year old boy.  My son’s mother and I are good friends and hang out often. 
My husband has been battling alcoholism but isn’t seeking any help at this time. It’s causing marital tension. 
Well his luck finally ran out. This morning he was driving drunk, got in an accident (drove into a ditch) and is currently at the police station.  
Is this something I tell my son’s mother about? My husband won’t. My husband doesn’t see his drinking as an issue.  But it’s her son’s father? I’m not trying to be a tattle tale or stir the pot, but I feel she should know
What do you guys think? Tell her? Or let my husband keep it a secret?

It’s a unique relationship, but if he does not tell her then someone needs to. That’s her son’s father and that’s serious. She deserves to know if he is drinking and driving if her child is ever in his custody.

Feel like only if it impacts her son. If you feel like he would drink too much around his child or drink and drive with his son in the car definitely.

Absolutely. The last thing you want is him driving the kid drunk and then it’s all kinds of criminal charges child endangerment, jail, child services taking the kid etc. unfortunately he’s not going to learn until it hits him hard and he’s got nowhere else to turn but up and reach for help. You can’t force him to get help, cops can , but it won’t stick until it comes from him. DUI, jail, losing his kid or wife or home etc. that’s seem to be the only way alcoholics learn. The hard way.

I would because you’re all enabling him. 
He needs rehab and if I found out step mom was letting my child around a drunk- who was driving- I wouldn’t be ok with that.

DEFINITELY. Your marital issues are irrelevant. This could become a huge safety concern for your step son. It’s about the kid here, not your marriage
