Daughter won’t play on her own unless extreme boredom
Our 4 yr old daughter won’t play on her own… or it takes over an hr of denying her snacks and iPad before she will eventually play on her own.
I started working a month ago and I knew it would be an adjustment at first but I’m just surprised she still won’t go play on her own.
I have to do some work from home now.
I come and initiate/set up something and then tell her “mama has to do some work now.”
I’ve tried keeping it the same times like early afternoon on the weekend after we’ve been out in the morning. We had a schedule going before with the iPad and snacks.
It takes over an hour until she finally starts playing with her toys on her own. I used to do chores before so it wasn’t always me playing with her.
I just see these kids playing completely on their own.. I remember as a kid playing on my own. My daughter clings to me. I enjoy playing with her so I guess she feels that. She goes to full time preschool and her teachers say she is social. Her friends run up to her in the morning.
I guess I need to start setting up more play dates but that’s also tiring and I can’t just leave 4 yr olds to play on their own
